Music Industry Legend and Radio Mogul Dinahlynn Biggs, who hails from Gary, IN keeps breaking barriers! She has debuted over 3,500 new artists on her BIGGS radio network that streams worldwide!
The stations that BIGGS built in the Indianapolis, Atlanta and Pasadena markets have been acquired by iHeart Radio; the sale represents a huge win for BIGGS, as the stations are completely debt free. Biggs retains 1% ownership in the stations sold as they represent her family name.
What to expect in 2025 from Biggs? Currently she is Serving as an Executive with Pandora Radio for new artists, along with the huge announcement of joining the team Billboard in 2025. This move in another direction in the music industry still allows for the evolution of new artists and their music to be heard.
Biggs will continue ownership of her Chicago station which will operate out of her current hometown of Indianapolis, IN. It has been recorded that Dinahlynn Biggs is the 1st Black female Radio Station owner in the state of Indiana as of 2020. In maintaining Biggs Radio Chicago, Biggs felt that Chicago represents the 3rd biggest media market in the world; with her partnership with Biggs Radio Germany, this takes music for new artists internationally. Also owning the taglines for the station: THE SOUNDTRACK OF AMERICA & THE VOICE OF A NEW GENERATION.
All of the Biggs Radio Team and interns will complete transition to the Chicago station in 2025, creating additional slots for new on air talent. The Biggs team currently consists of: Attorney Nathaniel Lee, AL Greer, Marshall Thompson, DaVon Jones, Jeff Releford, Dana Haney, Walter Miles, Keith Winslow, Kimberly Patterson, Jessie Nolen, Gus Redmond, Adrian Mason,Sr. Fabian Soul, Zachary Cooper and Antione Anderson. Dinahlynn attributes her success as a station owner to the late Alvin Washington, Jr., Jerry Hunter and Joe Ali along with past team members Dynamax Roberts the Hop-Hop Ambassador, King Blu, Cedrick Cusick and DJ Stanun.
Dinahlynn Biggs just celebrated 50 years in the radio business under many positions as of 2024. Starting as a kid in Gary, IN under the late Vivian Carter, who operated the 1st Black owned Record label in the world (Vee-Jay Records).
Biggs is a graduate of Indiana University, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc & Order of Eastern Star. The Biggs Radio Chicago is on 24/ 7 with an array of national commercials and sponsorships that reflect her love of community service.
Dinahlynn Biggs Sells Radio Stations to iHeartRadio
Radio and music industry stalwart Dinahlynn Biggs, originally from Gary, IN, has announced a transaction involving her network of radio outlets. Biggs has sold her Indianapolis, Atlanta and Pasadena stations to broadcasting giant iHeartRadio. Despite parting ways with these assets, she retains a symbolic 1% ownership, underscoring her ongoing connection to these stations that bear her family's name.
Biggs, known for debuting over 3,500 new artists on her global streaming network, the BIGGS radio network, remains a pivotal figure in the music industry. This sale marks a milestone for Biggs as the stations were offloaded debt-free, symbolizing a strategic and financially sound exit.
Looking forward, Biggs is not slowing down. She currently holds an executive role at Pandora Radio focusing on new artists and is set to join Billboard in 2025. This new venture will continue her lifelong commitment to nurturing new talent in the music industry.
In a significant nod to her roots and ongoing commitments, Biggs will maintain ownership of her Chicago-based station, which operates out of Indianapolis, where she now resides. Biggs Radio Chicago, known for its programming and international reach through its partnership with Biggs Radio Germany, represents an essential part of her portfolio. The station also boasts the taglines "The Soundtrack of America" and "The Voice of a New Generation."
With the consolidation of her radio operations, all team members and interns from the sold stations will transition to the Chicago station by 2025, providing opportunities for new air talent. The Biggs team includes notable figures such as Attorney Nathaniel Lee, AL Greer and Marshall Thompson, among others.
Biggs' career, which began under the mentorship of Vivian Carter of Vee-Jay Records, marks a journey spanning 50 years. As the first Black female radio station owner in Indiana as of 2020, her contributions to the industry have been groundbreaking.
